Mackenzie is an alumnus of Forest City Volleyball Club and Oakridge Secondary School's volleyball program. Mackenzie was involved with Zephyr Beach Club during the summers of 2007 to 2009. She is a first year student in the Mohawk/McMaster collaborative nursing program, working towards a BScN degree, and plays varsity volleyball for Mohawk College.

Mackenzie discovered volleyball in elementary school and joined the Forest City Volleyball Club in 2005, playing until her graduation in 2010. What she lacked in height, she made up in determination and skill, easily supporting the team in various positions, but favouring right side. In her final year, Mackenzie received the Award of Achievement.

Mackenzie played volleyball in each of her four years of high school. She captained the junior team in 2007-2008 and the senior team in 2009-2010. She received the MVP award in 2007-2008. In 2009-2010 the senior team won the TVRAA championships.

Love of volleyball motivated Mackenzie to continue during the summer months, and she joined the Zephyr Beach Club. Mackenzie and her partner, Jen Black, won gold in Tier 2 in 2008 and bronze at Nationals in Tier 2 in 2009.

At the age of 17, Mackenzie continued her volleyball career as a member of the Mohawk Mountaineers volleyball team, in the position of right side. The Mountaineers finished the 2010-2011 season in 4th place in Ontario.

Mackenzie has had the pleasure of learning from and being challenged by many excellent coaches and looks forward to the opportunity pass on what she learned to the athletes of Zephyr Beach Club.
